The sun and the Moon: The complementary force of the main masculine and feminine forces is fundamental in the Huichol Culture: the male is associated with the Sun (Tau) and the female with the moon (Metsa). We can see the face of the sun painted with sacred drawings made with the yellow root powder (Uxa) in preparation for the ceremony. The moon carries the other deities.
